Crude Oil Discharge into Intracoastal Waterway, Hackberry, LA.
Hackberry, LA, USA.
1. On April 26, 2023, an estimated 30 bbls of crude oil was discharged into the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) during a pipeline pressure test (NRC#1365674). MSU Port Arthur contacted NOAA SSC to request input on cleanup methods.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: CRUDE OIL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 1260 GALLONS.
