Original warning text

Epichlorohydrin Incident; Bayport, TX.
Bayport, TX.
1. Washings from an epichlorohydrin tank had been transferred to a semi-truck tank trailer. During the transfer (or immediately afterwards) the receiving tank was observed to be venting. There was enough chemical remaining to slowly react with the rinse water to create an exothermic reaction that heated the tank to 200 deg F and cause a release through the pressure relief value. The USCG requested information related to the potential hazards.
2. THREAT: CHEMICAL. COMMODITY: EPICHLOROHYDRIN.
3. POSITION 29.697N 095.016W. NOAA INCIDENTNEWS 1074: https://incidentnews.noaa.gov/incident/1074
