Mystery Oil Spill; Breton Sound, LA.
LA.
1. On March 20, 2024, the UCCG received reports of a mystery slick in Breton Sound from two local OSROs. The slick was spotted at 10:30 am and appeared to be moving to the southeast. No estimate on quantity or size at this time. Photos available in post. NOAA initial trajectory suggests possible shoreline impact in the form of scattered tarballs in approximately 48 hours.
