Plane Crash Near Jones Island; Jones Island Marine State Park, WA.
Jones Island Marine State Park.
1. On June 7, 2024, a small cessna crashed and sank off the west coast of Jones Marine State Park at around 1150. The aircraft sank with 50-60 gallons of high grade aviation fuel onboard and sank to 114ft. A USCG helo in the area observed a sheen at the incident site. SAR is still on-going, no one has been recovered yet. USCG Puget Sound is requesting any advice on whether to boom the area to prevent shoreline impacts to the park and for any response recommendations associated with high grade aviation fuel.
