Oil Sheen #2 off Cape Flattery; Coastal Washington State. Coastal Washington. 1. On the morning of June 22, 2024, NOAA NESDIS notified the NW SSC of possible oil sheen 65 nautical miles west of Cape Flattery, WA. The sheen was approximately 12 nm in length and 4.45 nm in width at the widest point. The SSC notified USCG of this observation. At 1630, USCG requested trajectory analysis to guide helicopter reconnaissance scheduled for 0900 on June 23, 2024. 2. THREAT: OIL. 3. POSITION 47.952N 126.154W.
