1. On December 29, 2024, the MV PATRICK J. STUDDERT, an 87ft towboat collided with the bulk cargo ship CLARA B near Mississippi River mm122.5 just upriver from Luling, LA. The tugboat sank in the vicinity of the collision. A portion of the Mississippi River was closed for 3 hours. SSC was notified by LOSCO. Oiled debris was reported as far downriver as mm99.
