Oil Discharges; Black Bayou Oilfield, Louisiana.
LA, USA.
1. On March 31, 2026, a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) observer discovered multiple oil discharges in the Black Bayou Oilfield of Louisiana. The responsible party, Robertson Energy, was unable to fund the cleanup; as a result, on April 7, USCG Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles federalized the response, opening five federal projects. Response operations are scheduled to begin on April 8.
