Dennis Pass Wellhead Blowout; LA.
LA.
1. At 0715 on Monday, August 15, well head in the Pass A Loutre Wildlife Management Area blew out, spewing crude oil and natural gas into the surrounding freshwater marsh. The spill, from Enervest Well #501, is located at 29d 05'45"N, 089d 10'09"W released approximately 50 bbls of oil. Some sheen moved from the immediate area and out through Dennis Pass into the Gulf of Mexico, but most of the oil was contained in the marsh, much of it in two different pockets approximately 200 yards by 150'. Some of the oil stuck in the bordering Roseau cane. 2000' of boom was on-scene as well as 5 skimmers were on-scene. No wildlife injuries were reported were.
