Barge KIRBY 14625 - Taft; LA.
LA.
1. On the evening of 6 December 2006, the NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator was contacted by Sector New Orleans and notified of a chemical incident near Taft, Louisiana (RM 127.9). The barge was identified as KIRBY 14625. For some reason, as yet unconfirmed, ethylenediamine was being released into the air from transfer piping on a chemical barge.
2. THREAT: CHEMICAL. COMMODITY: ETHYLENEDIAMINE.
