F/V Silver Wings; Gulf of Mexico. Gulf of Mexico. 1. On Friday, December 21, 2007, the shrimp vessel Silver Wings sank approximately 120 nm south of Vermillion Bay. The total potential fuel on board was 7,000 gallons of diesel. The USCG requested trajectory support from NOAA. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 7000 GALLONS. 3.
