Small plane crash; Columbia River, Astoria, OR.

1. A small plane crash-landed near the mouth of the Columbia River in the vicinity of Pier 17, Astoria, OR late in the day on 24APR2009. No pollution has been observed thus far, but the aircraft was reported to be carrying approximately 240 gallons of Jet-A fuel on board. USCG Sector Portland requested a trajectory estimate in the event of a fuel release. News reports indicate that attempts are being made to recover the aircraft from the water.
