Humble Canal Oil Spill; Paradis, Louisiana.

1. On Thursday, 29 October 2009, the regional NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator was notified by USCG Sector New Orleans of a small oil spill from an unknown source near the Humble Canal in SE Louisiana. This location is near Paradis, Louisiana. The USCG has responded on-scene to investigate. Heaviest impact initially observed is in a vegetated freshwater marsh, but the source had still not been identified. NOAA provided consultation as to response strategies and will continue to coordinate with the USCG.
