1. On Tuesday, November 8, 2011, the U.S Coast Guard contacted NOAA ERD regarding a sinking deck barge off Miami Beach that has been disabled since Monday afternoon. The barge, loaded with 33 containers on deck, is taking on water and is partially submerged. The containers are reported to be empty. The tug towing the barge is also disabled and adrift. Response vessels are attempting to dewater the barge.
