1. On November 9, 2013, The NOAA Alaska SSC was notified by USCG Sector Anchorage that the 110-ft F/V Alaska Mist, 25 NM NW of Amak Island in the Aleutians, with 22 POB, that it had shut down its engine to trouble shoot a leak on its reduction gear. Shortly afterward, it reported losing control of engine pitch and unable to maneuver. The USCG requested Spot Weather Forecasts every 6 hours for this vessel. The vessel was later successfully towed to Dutch Harbor, AK.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 50000 GALLONS.
