Bering Sea SATMON Anomaly Report ; Bering Sea, Alaska. Bering Sea, Alaska. 1. On July 15, 2014, the NOAA SSC was notified of 5 possible oil anomalies detected via satellite. The anomalies were located approximately 40NM Southwest of St George Island, AK in the Bering Sea. USCG requested SSC assistance to provide a trajectory analysis to estimate current location of the anomalies. 2. THREAT: OIL. 3. POSITION 56.362N 168.318W.
