1. On October 27, 2014, the USCG MSU Houma contacted the NOAA SSC about a 100 barrel crude oil spill which occurred on 25OCT2014. The oil spill was caused by a pipeline rupture in a marsh habitat north of Grand Isle, LA. The source is secure and removal actions are underway. USCG called to consult NOAA about potential use of in-situ burning as a response strategy.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: CRUDE OIL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 4200 GALLONS. TAGS: PIPELINE.
