On April 6, 2015, the USCG Marine Safety Unit in Morgan City, LA, contacted the NOAA SSC about a mystery sheen reported in the Atchafalya River. The USCG requested an analysis of the potential source and possible connection to an earlier spill. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 60 GALLONS. 3.
