Barge Collision; Texas City, TX.

1. On July 20, 2015, USCG Sector Houston-Galveston contacted the NOAA SSC regarding a barge collision near the Texas City Y. One barge, containing naptha, was reported to have a punctured tank. Specific amount released unknown at time of report. Barge had been pushed to the bank, and was reported to be on fire. A second barge, containing toluene, was involved in the collision, but was reported to be secure. Chemical fate and properties information was requested and provided.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: NAPTHA,. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 336000 GALLONS. TAGS: COLLISION.
