1. On May 2, 2017, the USCG MSU Morgan City contacted the NOAA RRO regarding a fishing vessel that had ran aground on 30APR17. Initially a Search and Rescue (SAR) case, the fund was opened to deal with the vessel. On 01MAY2017 at ~1340CDT an overflight was conducted by the USCG and a sheen was observed to be coming from the grounded vessel. USCG has requested a fate, effect, and trajectory analysis as well as a potential resources at risk.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL FUEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 500 GALLONS.
