Trinity Bay Pipeline; Anahuac, TX. Anahuac, TX. 1. On December 1, 2022, USCG Sector Houston Galveston requested NOAA SSC review of a draft Biological Evaluation (BE) for the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) for a completed Federal Project to investigate and remediate the discharge from a pipeline that had been the source of a natural gas leak and periodic oil sheens in Trinity Bay, Texas. A magnetometer survey confirmed the pipeline as the source of the discharge. The pipeline was jetted, cut, and capped. The area around the pipeline repairs was boomed. Additional oil was discharged during the cutting and capping and was recovered by skimmers. Operations concluded on October 7, 2022. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: CRUDE OIL.
