Barge on Fire in Grand Bay; Boothville-Venice, LA. Boothville-Venice, LA, USA. 1. On October 11, 2023, a storage barge caught fire in Grand Bay, LA with about 100 bbl of crude oil onboard. A concrete storage barge with a larger cargo is adjacent to the barge on fire and is currently intact. The total potential spill is 113,000 gal (2690 bbl) of crude oil. The USCG requested trajectory. 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: CRUDE. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 113000 GALLONS. 3. POSITION 29.377N 089.383W.
