Dielectric Fluid Release into East River; New Rochelle, New York.
Rye, NY, USA.
1. On May 10, 2024, the USCG Sector New York notified the NOAA SSC that an estimated 1,300 gallons of dielectric fluid was released into the East River, New Rochelle, New York. The release appears to be from a Con Ed transformer. USCG overflight has been requested. USCG has requested a trajectory.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIELECTRIC FLUID. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 1300 GALLONS.
