Fishing Vessel Bilge Discharge; South Padre Island, TX.
South Padre Island, TX, USA.
1. On 19-JUL-24, USCG Sector Corpus Christi called the NOAA NW RRO about a fishing vessel that had inadvertently discharged diesel via bilge due to a diesel tank puncture. The discharge occurred 5 miles offshore during a dewatering operation with USCG and the discharge amount is between 500 – 5,000 gallons of diesel. USCG is requesting a trajectory fate analysis to determine if the diesel will have shoreline impacts.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: DIESEL. MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 5000 GALLONS.
