1. On 28-JUL-2024, USCG Sector Corpus Christi contacted their NOAA SSC to request oil fate information for a sunken fishing boat roughly 12 miles offshore of Padre Island National Seashore, near Baffin Bay. The F/V TWO SS THREE LS sank in 40’ of water earlier in the day with 2,000 gallons diesel reportedly on board. A USCG overflight conducted later that morning observed a 2 mile by 0.5 mile sheen trailing from the vessel. USCG requested whether shoreline impacts might be possible.
