Sea Lion Cage Adrift; Seattle, WA.

1. Seattle Police Department and USCG Sector Seattle contacted the HDO on Sunday morning February 3 to report that a NOAA sea lion cage was adrift inside the breakwall of the Shilshole Marina in Seattle near Buoy #4. They asked for assistance in determining who within NOAA the cage belonged to. After a search for home phone numbers and multiple calls, the SSC determined that the cage belongs to NOAA's National Marine Mammal Laboratory (NMML) in Seattle and made the appropriate notification. NMML contacted the USCG and Seattle Police Department to begin efforts to retrieve the cage.
