Suspected Pipeline Leak off Marsh Island; Gulf of Mexico, LA.

1. At 1445 CDT on 16 July 2009, an overflight reported a light sheen 1.5 miles off Marsh Island. The sheen was described as 2 miles by 15 yards and composed of a light sheen. The coordinates are 29° 29.56'N by 92° 01.0 'W. The location of the observed sheen was very near a pipeline, and the pipeline was thought a potential source. NOAA was requested to provide a trajectory analysis.
2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: UNKNOWN OIL (SHEEN). MAXIMUM POTENTIAL RELEASE: 1 GALLONS.
