Condensate Sheen; Offshore Timbalier Islands, LA. Offshore Timbalier Islands, LA. 1. On June 3, 2015, MSU Morgan City notified NOAA SSC of rainbow sheen emanating from an unmanned offshore Walter Oil and Gas natural gas production platform. Platform is located approximately 9-10 miles south of the Timbalier Islands. Sheen material is natural gas condensate. The well was shut-in at 0530 on June 3. Quantity released and time of initial release unknown at this point. Trajectory requested 2. THREAT: OIL. COMMODITY: NATURAL GAS CONDENSATE. 3. POSITION 28.948N 090.519W.
