NAVAREA IX

Coordinated by Pakistan (Pakistan Navy Hydrographic Department); covers the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Sea and the Persian Gulf.

NAVAREA IX covers the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the northern Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. Pakistan's Navy Hydrographic Department coordinates it. Offshore oil and gas structures, exercises and, in recent years, security-related warnings make up much of its traffic.
