TWO MERCHANT VESSELS REPORTED COMING UNDER ATTACK IN 12-35N 043-26E AT 141440Z JUN, JUST EAST OF BAB EL MANDEB. THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF ATTACKS IN THIS AREA FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS. WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR PIRATE ACTIVITY AS WIND SPEEDS ARE FORECASTED TO BE 5-15KTS WITH WAVE HEIGHTS OF 2-4 FEET THROUGH THIS PERIOD. MARINERS ARE URGED TO TAKE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TRANSITING THE AREA. WHEN POSSIBLE, AVOID AREAS WHERE SMALL BOATS ARE OPERATING AND MAINTAIN A STRICT AND CONTINUOUS WATCH.
