A MERCHANT VESSEL WAS REPORTEDLY ATTACKED IN 11-09S 061-35E
AT 090914Z NOV, APPROXIMATELY 400 MILES NORTHEAST OF SEYCHELLES.
VESSEL REPORTED COMING UNDER ATTACK BY TWO SKIFFS. MASTER REPORTS
BULLET DAMAGE TO CAPTAIN'S CABIN AND BRIDGE. CAPTAIN REMAINS IN
COMMAND. NO CASUALTIES. VESSEL ALSO REPORTED BEING HIT BY AN RPG
AND WAS ON FIRE. THERE HAVE BEEN 12 PIRATE EVENTS IN THIS AREA
IN THE LAST 30 DAYS. ONI ASSESSES THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY
OF ATTACKS IN THIS AREA FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT 24 TO 48 HOURS.
WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN FAVORABLE FOR PIRACY
ACTIVITY THROUGH THIS PERIOD. CAUTION ADVISED.
