Naval exercise
Warships, submarines or aircraft exercising in an area, sometimes with firings, sometimes simply to keep traffic clear.
Exercise warnings announce the area and period of naval exercises. Some involve firing; others warn of submarines, aircraft carriers launching aircraft, or mine-countermeasure training. They range from small local drills to large multinational exercises spanning thousands of square miles.
An exercise warning is a notice of intended activity. The archive shows how often an area is used; it does not show what happened during any exercise.
