1. SURVEY OPERATIONS IN PROGRESS UNTIL FURTHER
   NOTICE BY M/V VOYAGER EXPLORER TOWING 6000 METER
   LONG CABLE IN AREA BOUND BY
   20-27.5S 034-55.0E, 20-08.5S 035-25.0E,
   20-29.5S 035-40.0E, 20-49.0S 035-10.0E.
   SIX MILE BERTH REQUESTED.
2. CANCEL HYDROPAC 784/12(74).

Reading this warning

Survey operations
A research or survey vessel is mapping the seabed or water column, often while towing equipment.
Until further notice
The operation or danger has no scheduled end; the warning stays in force until a later message cancels it.
Towed array / streamer
Equipment towed a long way behind a vessel — sonar, a hydrophone cable, a sampling sled — invisible at the surface.
Tow / towing
A vessel towing another vessel, a barge or a structure — slow, hard to manoeuvre, and with a long line between.
