1. SEISMIC SURVEY IN PROGRESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BY M/V PEJWAK TOWING 6000 METER LONG CABLE IN AREA BOUND BY 27-20N 052-39E, 26-52N 052-06E, 26-13N 052-51E, 25-44N 053-07E, 25-51N 054-26E, 26-01N 054-51E, 26-28N 054-51E. FOUR MILE BERTH REQUESTED. 2. CANCEL HYDROPAC 883/00.
Reading this warning
- Seismic survey
- A survey that maps the rock beneath the seabed with sound pulses from air guns, recorded on streamers kilometres long.
- Until further notice
- The operation or danger has no scheduled end; the warning stays in force until a later message cancels it.
- Towed array / streamer
- Equipment towed a long way behind a vessel — sonar, a hydrophone cable, a sampling sled — invisible at the surface.
- Tow / towing
- A vessel towing another vessel, a barge or a structure — slow, hard to manoeuvre, and with a long line between.
- Area bound by
- Introduces a list of positions that are the corners of an area — the polygon the warning applies to.
