   M/V MEZEN TOWING 6000 METER LONG CABLE
   IN AREA BOUND BY 10-16.6N 091-28.3E,
   10-12.3N 091-45.4E, 06-39.4N 092-35.2E,
   07-01.3N 093-14.3E. WIDE BERTH REQUESTED.

Seismic survey: A survey that maps the rock beneath the seabed with sound pulses from air guns, recorded on streamers kilometres long.
Towed array / streamer: Equipment towed a long way behind a vessel — sonar, a hydrophone cable, a sampling sled — invisible at the surface.
Tow / towing: A vessel towing another vessel, a barge or a structure — slow, hard to manoeuvre, and with a long line between.
