BERING SEA. AN EARTHQUAKE HAS OCCURRED AT 172334Z JUL WITH A PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF 7.4 IN VICINITY 54-12N 169-12E. A TSUNAMI MAY HAVE BEEN GENERATED. TSUNAMI WAVES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG SOME COASTS. TSUNAMI WAVE HEIGHTS CANNOT BE PREDICTED AND MAY BE A SERIES OF WAVES WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE INITIAL WAVE ARRIVAL.
