EASTERN SOUTH ATLANTIC. SOUTHWESTERN INDIAN OCEAN. SOUTH AFRICA. DNC 01, DNC 02. SEISMIC SURVEY IN PROGRESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BY M/V ATLANTIC EXPLORER TOWING 10000 METER LONG CABLE IN AREA BETWEEN 35-00S 38-00S AND 010-00E 025-00E. SEVEN MILE BERTH REQUESTED.
Reading this warning
- DNC (Digital Nautical Chart)
- A reference to one of the regions of NGA's Digital Nautical Chart, used to tell the reader which charts a warning affects.
- Seismic survey
- A survey that maps the rock beneath the seabed with sound pulses from air guns, recorded on streamers kilometres long.
