1. SEISMIC SURVEY IN PROGRESS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BY
   M/V GECO RESOLUTION TOWING FOUR 2.5 MILE LONG CABLES
   VICINITY OF TRACKLINE BETWEEN CAPE EGMONT (39-17S 173-45E)
   AND MAUI A AND B PLATFORMS (39-42S 173-15E).
   WIDE BERTH REQUESTED.
2. CANCEL HYDROPAC 1804/00.

Reading this warning

Seismic survey
A survey that maps the rock beneath the seabed with sound pulses from air guns, recorded on streamers kilometres long.
Until further notice
The operation or danger has no scheduled end; the warning stays in force until a later message cancels it.
Tow / towing
A vessel towing another vessel, a barge or a structure — slow, hard to manoeuvre, and with a long line between.
Track line joining
