SEA OF JAPAN. JAPAN. DNC 12. 1. EARTHQUAKE WITH PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF 7.4 OCCURRED IN 37-30.00N 137-12.00E AT 010710Z JAN. TSUNAMI WAVES ARE POSSIBLE WHICH COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURROUNDING COASTS. 2. TSUNAMI ACTIVITY IS FORECASTED TO START AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES: A. NIIGATA 38-00N 139-00E AT 010750Z. 3. TSUNAMI MAY BE A SERIES OF WAVES WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS FOR SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE INITIAL WAVE ARRIVAL.
