1. SEISMIC SURVEY BY M/V HAWK EXPLORER TOWING
   12000 METER LONG CABLES:
   A. IN PROGRESS UNTIL 08 APR ALONG TRACKLINE BETWEEN
      32-43.82S 050-25.65W AND 27-51.82S 045-41.80W
   B. 09 AND 10 APR ALONG TRACKLINE BETWEEN
      27-59.58S 045-17.60W AND 34-40.16S 051-55.10W
   SIX MILE BERTH REQUESTED.
2. CANCEL THIS MSG 11 APR 13.

Seismic survey: A survey that maps the rock beneath the seabed with sound pulses from air guns, recorded on streamers kilometres long.
Towed array / streamer: Equipment towed a long way behind a vessel — sonar, a hydrophone cable, a sampling sled — invisible at the surface.
Tow / towing: A vessel towing another vessel, a barge or a structure — slow, hard to manoeuvre, and with a long line between.
Track line joining: Introduces a route through a series of positions — a cable route, a tow's track or a survey line.
